Brabyns was founded in 1899 by the Budenberg family to educate their own children in a separate building adjacent to the family residence. The current School has retained the caring, family values which are inherited from these origins. We are proud of our reputation as a school, which embraces traditional principles combined with progressive teaching and forward thinking within a family atmosphere.
The school is situated in a pleasant environment in Marple, overlooking rural Derbyshire. These unique surroundings provide a peaceful atmosphere for the positive growth and development of young children.
We provide continuity from the age of two-and-a-half to eleven years, offering an excellent programme of academic, cultural, sporting and extra-curricular activities, in which all pupils are inspired to reach their potential. Our holistic approach is quite formal in regards teaching and learning and also in our attention to standards of behaviour, manners and dress. At the same time we like to foster a fun, happy, caring family atmosphere where the partnership of parents, pupils and teachers is actively encouraged. Our belief is that, if the children are to fully develop and mature, a climate of happiness, mutual respect and positive behaviour is essential.
