The school was founded in 1928 and takes its name, from its founder, Mrs. June Hampshire. In 1961, Mrs Hampshire’s daughter, Mrs. Jane Box-Grainger, known as 'Miss Jane', succeeded her mother as principal and in 1986 I took over from her. At that time ownership of the school was transferred to Nord Angila Education plc.
In June 2004 ownership transferred to Global Educational Management Systems (GEMS) and we now enjoy the benefit of being a GEMS managed school.
Occupying three fine buildings centred around Kensington Gardens and Hyde Park, we are an independent co-educational day school catering for up to 238 children between the ages of 3 and 13 years. The school is fully accredited by The Independent Schools’ Council and is regularly inspected.
Our children are the central focus of the school; we value our working partnership with parents and feel it is important that home and school work together in order to assist children in their pursuit of excellence.
Entry to the schools is subject to an interview with the Principal and a satisfactory report from the candidate’s previous school. Older candidates will be asked to take a short test in English and Mathematics.
